>>1726209i know the 4chan isn't the place for nuance or anything, but:
my general impression of tubeless after using them for several years is you will spend just as much time on your tubeless tires as you would on tubed tires.
The difference is that the time you spend on your tubeless tires is at home, in your garage, at the time of your choosing. Rather than being unexpectedly forced to patch or swap a tube out in the middle of a ride.
It is also a slightly different set of skills than dealing with tubed tires, and that scares some people.
If you're bad at remembering to do scheduled maintenance until it's too late, have a particular aversion to/phobia of getting goo on your hands, are generally a klutz and/or do not have a garage space where spilling a few drops on the floor isn't the end of the world, or are just in general a stick in the mud/old dog who refuses to learn new tricks, tubeless is not for you.
But if you're good at remembering to do schedule maintenance and prefer your rides themselves to be as trouble-free as possible? Especially if you are a mountain biker who dreads pinch flats, or a commuter in a city with a lot of broken glass on the pavement? Tubeless is fuckin' great.
