I'd not say this is a uniquely American phenomenon. Iran had major issues with fuel price protests too in recent times. Anywhere that people are "used" to cheap fuel prices, whether America or some ME country with subsidized cheap fuel like SA or Iran, the moment you raise prices even a little, people lose their shit. I'd peg it with similar action like the 2018 protests in Russia over the retirement age changes. People are used to something for so long that any changes can boil over pretty damn quick.

No, this isn't true. Inflation is caused by numerous factors, one of which is an aggregate supply shock, aggregate demand shock, rise in the velocity of money, etc. In this case, it's almost certainly a shortage caused by a demand shock as the country starts more and more to open up. It also isn't restricted to the US, but globally, as a consequence of various energy shortages (China is really fucking itself with its price controls on energy, so to keep up with demand they're importing lots of coal, LNG, and oil).

many of the local bike coops have closed down since the pandemic shut down. these were places where one could learn to maintain a bicycle and access parts for a low price. now one must go to the ma&pa LBS (surprising not closing also) but if the NWO theory comes true about small buisness being pushed out, the only place one will be able to get bike maintenance done will be at some over priced department store bicycle section -or- do-it-yourself. department store labour maintance cost will have a rediculous overhead on them and it will be cheaper for normies just to rent an e/bike with maintance covered by some other entity

usa needs higher gas prices, way too many people go for drives when theyre bored. theyll waste a gallon of gas just to get some mcdonalds dollar burgers. in the south every one just fucking idles in parkinglots with their ac's on. hour long commutes in suburban traffic that even though its 15 miles, somehow its still faster on a fucking bicycle.

Like Prices in Europe ate even in my shitty country of Croatia like almost 1.5€ Per liter.

Currently they're at 1.64$ Per Liter.

A gallon has 3.78541 Liters.

So 6.2$ per Galon.

Even California is only 4.7$

Europs leader on Gas prices Denmark stands today at 1.89€

For comparison 1.89€ = 2.12$

So One Gallon in Denmark is 8,02$

I literally don't get why American are complaining. If people with minimum wages of 500€ can drive to work so can Americans on twice as little.
