My car was totaled last night. I don't remember what happened before the accident. A witness said I swerved to avoid someone coming into my lane, then I spun out because the road was wet from rain. My car flipped, hit a sign, turned around, and was on the sidewalk. I was magically unharmed. I'm really just happy to be alive. The police had my car towed and the towing company doesn't open until Monday. I made a claim with my car insurance provider. I have enough money to buy a new used car, but don't know if I'm allowed to do it right now or if I should wait until the claim is settled.

What am I supposed to do? I want to keep going to work, and might actually start a new job soon. Am I liable for the sign that was destroyed? The police said they were going to try and get surveillance footage today. Please comment any advice you have, thanks.
