Is there ANY commercial product that invokes more loyalty than the car? How the fuck do you design something that goes so far beyond what it was engineered to do?

A car to me is literally just a transportation box that is nice to use when the weather is poor. That's it.

Meanwhile Americans will write songs, produce movies, program video games, terraform the entire earth just for their favorite cars. They will swear loyalty to one brand or one model for their entire life. I've met several people that will ONLY buy pickup trucks regardless of what their use case is. Having a bigger or louder car is a dickwaving contest and people will ruin their finances to do it. I don't fucking get it.
