>>1733655I have a north face jacket and a pair of berghaus trousers, I also wear trekamates gaiters over the tops of my shoes and they are brilliant for keeping the rain out, I do sweat a little but no more than normal, I always sweat a bit especially when I'm pushing it uphill, that's just part of cycling. I used to carry this cheap raincoat thing and whenever I wore that I'd sweat fucking buckets, but the goretex stuff is pretty much like wearing normal sportswear in that regard.
just to add to what that other anon said, I too ride with my work clothes in a seperate bag, I also take a clean towel with me, when I get to work I go to the washroom, dry off my face and then my cycling kit, bundle all that into plastic bags (dried waterproofs separate from the now damp towel) and change into my work clothes dry as a bone, change back into the waterproofs if it's still raining at the end of my shift and do the same when I get home, the goretex repels water so when I say I dry it with a towel it's really almost dry, but there's always some droplets and a but of dirt thrown up from the road to wipe off, most of the moisture comes from my face and the gaiters.
As with everything you need to buy decent stuff, if you try to go cheap you get a less effective product, especially when it comes to things like the stitching quality etc, my kit cost me around £400, but I bought it 5 years ago and there's at least another 5 years left in them, probably more as I do look after my things, £40 a year to BTFO the rain is great value in my opinion, like the other anon I don't worry about the rain at all, literally water off a ducks back.
