speed = cadence x gain ratio x wheel circumference
and gain ratio = radius ratio x chainring / sprocket
and radius ratio = wheel radius / crank length
Imagine extending or retracting the crank arm as modifying the torque output at the crank (kind of like using a cheater bar on a stuck nut/bolt) which then gets multiplied/divided through the chainring and sprocket changing torque output at the wheels. So yes, crank length does effect output, not by RPM like the drivetrain but by torque at the wheels with varying crank lengths
