Right now truck transport is more flexible and if you get electric trucks notching changes. Trains are also slow because well track are usually one way so they're high volume slow speed types of transport. You're not going to transport iPhones with a train.

My city of 100k people is really wide and we a year or so ago got Bolt Scooters. I've considered buying a Scooter but given how I don't drive them around daily, give how I'm afraid someone might steal it, given how much of a hassle it is to tie it up and shit when going somewhere.
I use Bolt for sub 4~5km trips and Trams/Buses for over 5km trips. Since the Tram fare is like 1€ and riding a Bolt scooter is 10m = 1€
I'm 3x I owned a Renault Twingo and a Daewoo(Bought out by Chevrolet) Nexia.
I sold both because simply I do not need them. It had sense when my mom had parents living 15 km away in a village so we'd visit every Sunday for lunch, it made sense when we went shopping to big supermarkets, it made sense when I was a kid and she wanted me to be safe and drove me around to friend places and stuff.
But even she say didn't use the Car in Winter and kept it in a garage because when it snowed it would take like 3 times longer to get to work she'd have to clean the car at home clean it at work to get back. Much easier to just take the Tram.
So even in a small city like mine of 100k where we don't have American suburb style housing but it's all most mixed zone except for an industrial area it makes very little sense financially to own a car.
