How does a country of 5.38 million afford something like this? Canada has over 35 million people and they can't even build an LRT in their capital city. Are they flushing our tax money down the toilet here?

People are probably ok with it as it’s a massive growth opportunity. Lots of the islands that will be connected by this highway are served only by ferries and a road connecting them would make things like commerce, tourism, commuting and more way easier for the entire country.

Not like Norway, and I doubt the Canadian govt. were as financially savvy with it either. The oil company is state owned meaning the government takes all the profits.In fact, the country puts 99% of said profits into the "Petroleum Fun of Norway" that benefits all citizens. The fund is currently worth $1.303.430.469.000. This is socialism with money and it's god damn beautiful.

We have lots of oil, we simply refuse to exploit it. Alberta’s economy is constantly in the shitter because when oil prices are good we hear about how we need to shift away from oil in our economy. If we just exploited it now in the short term for the Long term benefits we’d probably be doing even better shit than this.

The floaters that hold the "floating" tunnel seems like a major oversight.
One wrong move by a ship and the floaters supporting the tunnel can get torn off and endanger everyone in the tunnel.

Under communsim you get goods proportionally your "needs", what are vaguely defined, and if you consider that needs and demand are infinite it' becomes the mess.
Under capitalsim shareholder gets income and voting power according to the clearly defined share.

Most of that's already done. It's about sorting out 7 longer crossings (and improving some other stretches of the road as well). Some of those will be difficult because they're in very scenic areas.
However, in engineering terms it is the crossing just north of Stavanger that is the trickiest because it's necessarily fairly long and exposed to significant storms every year. The other crossings are all in much more sheltered environments. (However, the next crossing north of the one I've just identified is probably the most expensive to sort out due to its length.)

The floating bridge might be at Molde. That's another very long crossing, but in sheltered waters that don't see vast numbers of huge ships.

Norway is overhyped. Being the number 1 in HDI really doesn't mean much, since living standards remain virtually identical across the board once you're past the 0.9 HDI mark. Life in Norway isn't going to be any significant upgrade from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, etc.
