It may have been cheaper to drop a prefab, but I can't imagine it's significantly cheaper than a well planned refurb, especially if you can lease out a local convenience store, news stand, or coffee shop out of half the station to recoup some of those operating costs.
>>1747254It's a damn shame that Racine and Kenosha don't have commuter rail to either Milwaukee or Chicago. The Hiawatha line would make way more sense if it could attract commuters to either of those two cities. Instead it serves one of Chicago's suburbs (kinda) and then, at best, ferries people between MKE downtown and the airport. Sad thing is if Racine and Sturtevant made their station into a local busing hub, they could probably make a business case to improve their position as a Milwaukee/Chicago suburban rail stop.
