Why rigid vs a nice fork at max stiffness?

I see zero point in trying to save a couple ounces of unsprung weight vs having suspension meant to dampen all the high frequency vibration and bumps. ESPECIALLY long distance. If bombing downhill I like 90psi to absorb big hits and rocks and roots. Then why not have like 150psi for a loaded down bike? The added weight still benefits with suspension, you just need to it to match your weight #+ gear weight #

Now I do see, where a cheap rigid fork is better than a cheap fork that won't increase in stiffness to accommodate the payload # increase
