It was really funny in Australia watching the extinction rebellion protests go completely unremarked upon until they had the gall to block one lane in Sydney one morning and then suddenly all hell breaks loose and they're drafting new anti-protest laws and all the conservative politicians start crying about how the social fabric is unravelling. Given that one group has a whole culture dedicated to the belief that said group is in the wrong, with attempts to lower speed limit, reduce lanes, add stoplights, and cut funding, while the other group is composed of a small group of elitists who literally get every piece of new infrastructure handed to them, NEVER get anything taken away, often get all uppity when it's implied to use said infrastructure, and then calls the other group names and cries about them 24/7...I'd say...absolutely nothing.

It's strange how they only protest against the lives of the average person, withholding vital medical treatment by blocking off the paths of ambulances but they never seem to protest and inconvenience members of the government.
That's also ignoring the fact that housing insulation has nothing to do with cars. It makes you wonder what their goals really are.

Maybe it's because I'm rapidly becoming an old fart who doesn't understand the world, I certainly feel like that... but surely (for privately owned houses at least) whether it's insulated is entirely the problem of the home owner? If we're talking about public sector housing that's a different thing, but this doesn't seem to be about that. and if it was, it's an issue for local governments.

Also blowing a load of fibreglass into the walls of a house that wasn't designed for it can cause damp problems, meaning you need to run the heating more to stop black mould. Cold and draughty is definitely preferable to "slightly less cold also congrats all your stuff is destroyed by mould because the air can't circulate". there's only about a month of the year total where you should be using heating anyway, unironically just put on another pair of socks. anyway our real problem is there are too many people for the planet to support, but weirdly people aren't ready to talk about that.
