hello, frens

i want to build a bike that can handle moderate loads on gravel and trails. my current bike (pic related) fits me great (21.5 inch seat tube) and the tubes are strong but, in its current state, can't do everything i want, e.g. . it will need to be replaced or modified.

some (hopefully helpful) info:

1.) my frame fits me very well, so i've considered asking a frame builder to braze bottle mounts on the seat tube of my current frame, as well as the lower side of the bottom tube. additionally, i've considered asking a frame builder to make something akin to the Surly Troll fork since finding a one inch threaded expedition fork is difficult.

2.) i've considered finding a steel mtb frame manufactured in the early 90's with a front tube able to accommodate a 1 1/8 inch steerer (so that i can use the Surly Troll fork), e.g. Trek 920+. can y'all recommend any such frames?

3.) i've considered buying a Crust Evasion. these bikes are awesome. money isn't exactly an issue. nevertheless, i don't know if i want to spend ~$5,000 USD.
