how strong this effect is depends on the design of the trailer hitch and the weight distribution of the trailer when loaded.

trailers with side by side wheels like in OP picture behave much like a trike, if one of the wheels hits a bump or rolls over a high friction surface the frame will tilt and rock about,
Trailers with inline wheels are nicer to corner, but they can flip over quite badly sometimes.

only other thing is that trailers easily push bikes about, a strong kick stand on the bike is not enough, better to lean the bike onto a lamp post and jam the trailer in place,
some trailers have built in legs that fold down to hold the load deck while stationary, this is very nice to have.
