>>1747460>No weed testing>Same ABV as 4 wheelers when it comes to whats legally drunk>No level one inspections, no required number of level ones a year for randos(Level one is fingers up your ass. the DOT literally requires a rape amount of year with this)
>HOURLY WAGES there is zero reason why I am beholden to a job, am laboring, and am not paid. Waiting, loading, unloading, fueling, repairs, traffic, all unpaid work. All unpaid work and the DOT just changed it so our only 30min break can actually be worked through so long as that work isn't driving. I was making 30 cents per mile whether I cruised by at 64 or sat there in traffic for 8 hours. 30cents either way. Don't forget it's also legal to dispatch drivers with empty trailers for ZERO CPM, no matter the distance. I only got paid going forward and loaded.
>home/work balanceI was home 4 days out of every month and they fight you on every one.
>MY LABOR IS SKILLED LABORI have a Class A with endorsements, I have to carry around multiple pieces of paperwork at all times, for threat of losing my license, to prove I am skilled, and yet in the US, trucking is not considered skilled labor.
>OTR under 21I just don't see why you can't operate interstate as a legal adult
No local boomer home every day place is hiring a kid out of high school without experience.
OTR is generally the path to home every day jobs, exploitative as they are
>build more truck parkingIf I see your pickup or RV at a rest stop, tires are being slashed.
I had to start driving at 11 or midnight so I could driving around noon or so just so I didn't ever have to worry about parking. There just isn't enough and more and more I am expected to pay out my ass for parking that I am literally required to do.
If the State requires me to stop the truck. the State must provide a place for the truck to stop. Pretty simple.
