Why is architects pay so... mediocre. Yet we're highly educated, +5 year STEM degree, +2 year work period to register as an architect, licensed engineer, can start work immediately after degree...

Should one take the BIM modeller pill or the UX/UI pill?

all they do should be done instead by a civil engineer, that way it would be done properly, and probably would look far far better (can look any worse thats for sure)

There is virtually no use for architects in twenty-first century America.

I'd assume that to make something of yourself you'd either need to get into a well-known firm and put in a lot of time doing bitch work or else move abroad to a country where custom work is more of the norm. I think architecture is super interesting but it's a turd degree with abysmal job prospects.

you do know architects are the ones coming up with the load-bearing structures for buildings? and how most things you probably hate are not actually the result of either modernism (old) which everyone hates or an extremely profit driven building industry.
why are you so eager to suck the cocks of engineers? tell me what you think a guy who mostly does math would to better than someone who's actually been taught design? (and i'm not talking about pure subjectivity and looks)

architects barely choose shit, building contractors decide most things. noone (probably including you) wants to pay for ornamental facades and the bigger more dense and rational (hello engineers) it is the cheaper it is to build -> more profit. if you're talking about bragging project and high tech buildings then yeah I agree they're shit for city environments but they're not really representative for what architects like or would want, they're more representative of what your local politicians and large companies like

Yes, but not this tiny, 2.5m width is catastrophically restrictive. My dream is an established modular system where there are compatible foundations all over the country in every city and town, and when you move to a different place your house (3.5m wide or so and as long as a regular semi trailer) just gets craned onto a truck and then carried to your destination and put back on a foundation, without any need for individual building permits in each place.

Thermal insulation. Sharing walls is no issue however if you simply make the wall thick enough. Walls aren't too uninterrupted, they're too fucking thin.
