>>1768333Cheers, fun fact: its actually gopro compatiable so I'm tempted to buy a gopro and have it recording my rides incase something like that ever happens again. I actually drove past where I got hit and there were THREE bright signs that said that was a pedestrian crossing ahead. So I'm baffled as to how she missed those signs. Oh well, no point dwelling on it at this point.
>you are getting a carbon road bike right?Yeah definitely. I regret honestly not starting with a road bike, because the upright position on a hybrid bike is very uncomfortable for me. There's a particular bike that I want from Trek, the Émonda SL 5 Disc. I've read heaps of reviews and did some research and its apparently a decent bike going uphill (which is what I need in Canberra honestly), the only two downsides is that the wheels and seat post are the heaviest parts. So I was pricing with them how much it would be to get the Émonda but switch out the stock wheels and seat post for the Aeolus wheels and a carbon seat post. Funnily enough he just had someone buy one who did the exact same thing so he gave me that price (it's about $5,100 but considering I wanna get proper pedals and cycling shoes that bumps it up to $5,500). I mainly also just wanted to see if it would've been worth going to the Émonda SL 6, which is $5,999.99. I was told the only difference b/w the two is the drivetrain.
So yeah I'm looking at either late April or May to place the order at Trek, just have a few things to deal with first.
