nd Internal frame backpacks for lighter loads <60 pounds and external for >60 pounds.
rd I own literally the backpack in the picture and use the base for hauling heavy bagged items (potatos, kitty litter, cat food you get the idea), the bag itself for shit and side pockets for small items.
rd when packing a backpack with groceries get RID OF THE BOXES. Chewie bars in a box? Nah bag that shit. Cheerios? COMES IN A BAG. Heavy as fuck kitty litter? Most come in a bag. Fucking those tendies? Yea probably in a bag.
th chest/waist and if you want a forehead strap all are super useful for hauling those super heavy loads.
th Heavy at the top and don't be a afraid to buy some extra straps so you can strap your straps while you strap your straps; makes life easier when you can just strap shit down.
This all being said the alps outdoor pack is a great pack for hunting but not really the best for everyday packing. I only use it when I know I can't/shouldn't bring my bike or when I know the weight alone would be to much to peddle/pack with my other pack.
