They even wrote a book about improving their scheduling from the Swiss, but they didn't even try to implement some of it.
Swiss transportation network with Japanese-tier passenger rail would be the gold standard of transportation.

Since Switzerland is small it doesn't really need HSR, but I do think all those special trains in Japan are pretty cool.

I think in french they just say "mesdames et messieurs" and in italian "gentili viaggiatori". But the German expression is funnier because many conductors extend the first syllable a lot.

It's frustrating as hell as a commuter.

You see this fuckhuge gigantic transist system map yet you can't use said transit because there's no system wide fare/monthly pass.

also, any attempt at a monthly pass is ridiculous. 150 dollarydoos per month just for the tokyo metro lines? nearly the same amount just for the JR lines? WTF son..
