it's because you're not countering the weight with thrust. you only counter the drag, which is quite small

It will be seen/heard anyways soon enough. The actual secret is most likely the fine values of blade angles, alloy mixture used and other stuff you can't analyze just by looking at a picture

They and the Chinese have been behind on blade technology and still are by at least two decades. Everybody else is either using French or American derived blades which are more advanced, thus there really isn't much insight to glean from the photographs.
