Solving the train dilemma in the US

No.1765585 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
People will bitch and moan about how America either has no trains and cars are shitting up the country or doesn't need trains for public transportation because cars are just fine.
However, I wanna ask: why not have both? I mean literally both. Between Europe and England, there are trains specifically designed to hold cars and other automobiles in its cars and carry them between the island and continent. So I wonder: why don't we gradually give the massive amount of tracks in the US use again and make trains that carry people in automobiles? Think about the benefits:

Trains
-Pros:
>efficient way to transport loads of people at once
>bathrooms included (okay not all of them but a lot of them)
>efficient power draw
-Cons:
>Can only go in predetermined paths, nuanced locations are basically impossible without exiting the train and walking like a hundred miles
>Niggers
>Tickets needed
>Need to wait until the next one arrives
>Packed in like sardines

Automobiles:
-Pros:
>Can go anywhere with a road
>No wait time needed, just go in and go
>Individual control
>AC control
-Cons:
>pollutives en masse
>No bathrooms
>Fucking traffic jams

Car carrying trains:
-Pros:
>Carries cars in the cars, enabling all the individual liberties that a car owner has in his/her vehicle
>Bathrooms are accessible
>Roomy as hell
>Amenities are not required by the train itself since people can just relax in their cabs
>Limited reach by trains is rendered moot since people can simply drive the rest of the way to where they need to go
>Traffic jams are moot because trains take most of the people in

So America, why haven't we been doing this all along?
