>>1769435>>1769449I wonder if the 124 nose doors would be compatible with this 225 frame. At least from pictures they look nearly identical, except the 225's is a bit more bulbous on the tip. In that case, they would have.
-Nearly finished airframe on pic.
-Nose cargo door (if they can get one from a damaged 124, for example, I read there were some but not sure about their state).
-Not sure if wings were built for this airframe or if anything can be done with the wings of the destroyed aircraft, but maybe some of the structure can be recovered from there.
-Tail on destroyed airframe, which seems nearly intact (for now) maybe could be reused, even if they have to hack it out by brute force. There is also what looks like horizontal stabilizers on the floor under the tail on Anon's pic, but they could also be wings for one of he smaller aircraft, I'm not sure.
-Engines were not unique, and some were not on the plane at the moment of the attack, so they could be replaced and some of them may still be intact. Could also be replaced with more efficient modern powerplants.
-Whatever minor parts they can recover from the destroyed aircraft, and whatever compatible 124 spares they can have access to. Opportunity could be seized to modernize a lot of the systems too.
-Knowledge about where everything is supposed to go from operating and maintaining those for all these years
It seems like there could be still nearly enough in terms structural parts to be integrated into a new complete plane, that of course if thigns don't get worse around there or are already worse than we think. The burden would be in integrating these parts, making sure it's flyable and replacing what's missing.
This, of course, would require the conflict to come to an halt and for dust, a lot of dust, to settle. Most of resources will go to rebuilding the cities, the economy and helping out affected civilians so all of this is a big if, but I'm trying to be a bit optimistic and think that not all is lost.
