>>1770865Easier to grab shit out while in the saddle, and gives me a nice spot to tuck my hands on cold rides.
>>1770883As designed, it's supposed to connect the back of the flat track to the fork crown with a short bracket. But since it's only sized to fit one specific bike, I had to bodge it. There's a long horizontal aluminum stay, going from my fork crown to a p-clamp on the front of the rack, to stop forward/back motion. Rack is solid.
Bag is an older Topeak Tour Guide, and attaches to the bar via their fixer qr mount. Decent design, but doesn't like weight and rough terrain together, so the whole point of the rack was to provide support to the bag.
I tested it over the weekend with a gallon of milk in the bag, which is my max load. Doesn't make the front of the bike behave much differently than my lowrider-equipped bike; stable at speed (15-18 for me), but below 5mph you have to muscle the bars more to do corrections since you're shifting more mass. 10-20mph side wind is noticable but not disruptive.
>>1770897>>1771418Yeah SKS speedrockers, and I do not recommend them unless you have zero fork/tire clearance to fit a traditional front fender. Pain in the dick to mount vs traditional fenders. You can see the back one just suddenly stops at 2:00, I couldn't get the extension to mount worth a shit to give full coverage. Holding up well though.
