It's not in the realm of women's studies but it's not math or physics either. And there are quite a few parts in biology that can clash with ideologies. Like natural selection for example goes very hard against quite a few ideologies.
Yes, the USSR was a brutal repressive regime. That still doesn't change the fact that their hard sciences were on point. Claiming anything else is revisionist history.
