Oil from alternative sources. We already have ethanol from corn, eventually getting some sort of crude oil out of carbon-based waste.

Neither are scams, though some people scam others about the implications.
Global warming is an observed phenomenon and something that, based on the laws of physics, we should expect when we change the composition of the planet's atmosphere.
Peak Oil (or at least Peak Conventional Oil) occurred in the USA around the time the original predictions said it would. But many factors (first foreign oil, then shale oil, then EVs) have prevented it from being the serious problem that some people thought it would be.

Petroleum geologist; the Hubbard Decline Curve really only describes oil production from very well defined proved reserves(due to Texas law requiring you to turn in your well logs) and with outside pressure which ensures you don't continue to exploit the reservoir. It really doesn't describe reality. Now you do have peak production which in reality is more plateau production. But due to increasingly efficient techniques for production we now have a reserve of oil and gas so massive I don't know how it calculate it. We used to say we had 70 years of "cheap" oil left in 2007 before we developed the techniques to effectively hydrofracture shale. Coal reserves are massive, especially for the US which holds 70% of the proved BTUs of coal on the planet. We don't go for coal that most other nations would kill for. Natural gas had massive reserves before shale exploitation which made it impossible to accurately calculate when they would deplete. With shale, I can't even guess, many thousands of years at current rates of consumpiton. And the golden rule we based all these estimates on was a 4% increase in demand compounded yearly which had been largely true for the last 100 years. This trend faltered in 2005 and died in 2010. Because it assumed racial equality and constant birthrates both of which aren't happening. The turd world and even China will never really develop as whites and japs do. And everybody outside of rural America isn't haven't kids anymore, even African birthrates are dropping like a stone.
