No problems if it's maintained by 1st world nation.
There are DC-3s (last built in 1950) and B-52s (last built in 1962) still flying around, it's all about proper maintenance.
For an airliner I'd still prefer a new one though, just because of added comfort.

I have literally no idea about planes but aren't planes usually exposed to enormous forces on each flight? I mean, materials used to build planes changed a lot over the span of 50 years and I assume each part has a breaking point. Sure, with maintenance a lot of parts get replaces but I don't think literally every structural part gets replaced and even the stiffest plane from the 60s has some slight flopping at least in extreme conditions.

There is no "flopping", metal structures don't do that, instead, when fatigued or damaged, they crack or bend. And that's exactly what maintenance is for, we can check for bending or cracks and if there is none of this damage, airplanes fly like they're new.

Alright. I just assumed some bending within tolerances may (after many decades) lead to failure of parts that can't be replaced that easily.
So basically literally everything can get replaced if some problem gets detected? Isn't there some part that when weakened would financially total the plane?

I'd say every part could be repaired or replaced, for example the infamous 737 pickle forks which are quite the core structural part: when they found cracks they just got repaired

Of course there can be damages that could financially total the plane, that depends on how rich you are and what exactly on which airplane failed.

My flight school had this ancient 172M that I really loved. The plane was so damn light because it wasn’t weighed down with interior upholstery and all that shit. Loved it. Unfortunately Some retards crashed it in a canyon and now it’s gone forever
