The Burley Coho XC seem to be the top of the range from reviews but I want to hear from people who use one

I will be mostly using it to take stuff to and from my allotment, shopping, taking old crap to the tip etc...

99% of my riding is on paved roads with brief bits of trails

I know it houses the braking actuator, but I am just making a comment about why it costs 4600 per trailer?

That doubled with not just one but TWO pivoting joints on a huge arm of a tow bar

Does that look like it would attach to a seat post hitch?

And just look at the hitch...WTF?

it's handmade, has custom machined parts, comes with three wheels, and you have to add markup for that brake-activation tech, which i'm pretty sure they invented. i'm not necessarily defending it, but out of most cargo-ish things i feel like this one at least deserves to be expensive. it's not just a frame with a small front wheel and extra tubes sticking out the front.

That hitch is a 1.00 piece of metal and a set of nuts and bolts with a flange to attach to the mounting area for the heim joint.

The 4600 dollar trailer and a 1.50 for the hitch?

Pic related hauls pedicabs and cargo trailers with a stronger foundation to pivot from and with enough reinforcement to suspend the load it carries without the third trailer wheel

Also reinforces that Carla's operations infinitely as the hitch is streamlined and fits around the post holding pressure with two bolts on a shim around the seatpost. Can recommend that the seat post also be made of a solid rod or have a rod jammed inside of the seat post tube to allow you to really crank down on the seat post and clamp.

I add two dampeners amde of rubber washers to keep the noise from banging around and give the bike/trailer combo a springy return to upright when coming out of a turn.

Also helps when turning and the trailer hits a bump or pothole as the entire frame is taking weight but gets diffused by the dampeners.

Really smooth hitch, and can tow any trailer with this configuration that attaches to the seat post tube.

Side attached trailers are trash.
