That incident single handedly killed Greyhound transportation (at least in Western Canada).
Before it, it was still a thing to take the Greyhound over to Vancouver when you didn't feel like driving for two days.

Id feel safe riding the coach if the trip is within 6 hours of Toronto (where I live). Anything further and I would fly or take the train because anyone willing to ride the bus across the country is probably a crakhead or homeless and dont mind the extra hours and days of shelter.
