>>1804240idk, there are about a hundred startups working on those projects already. I already paid for the education system through taxes, and those engineers are already enacting positive change on my behalf. So frankly I don't give a fuck how they do it, I'd rather focus on my own interests, which are not only about transportation.
>>1804233I don't get what your point is. The military background brings a certain degree of positive character traits like being good under stress, physical fitness and leadership, and they also recruit from USAFA which consistently is one of the best (if not the best) in terms of winning soaring badges. Actually it's very embarrassing that nobody in this country thinks flying is important, unless you have to go kill some Arabs or whomever, then suddenly it's very important. But anyway, the fact is that airline pilots don't have to do any of this shit. Some do care about flying, some are competent, but most aren't.
>>1804215>I would love to see you never take a plane againIt's very simple to stop me from flying. Keep doing what you're doing, perpetuate incompetence, say dumb shit on the ground and get into an airplane and keep saying dumb shit in the air, too. Flying is a language, and after you die or injure yourself, they have to send lawyers and shit to explain how you died, make it harder for other dumbasses like me to be able to afford to fly. Ultimately it becomes a hobby for the rich, and you'll get what you want.
>>1804211It's definitely true. Your entire hiring process makes no sense, the guy that instructed your instructor? He doesn't know what he's doing, either. The culture of GA is dead, there's a tremendous amount of experience that has got to be learned firsthand, otherwise the regulations and expectations we perpetuate are going to be based on fear and incompetence.
