Any Air Traffic Controllers here? Especially those in Canada? I'm thinking of applying to be an ATC in Canada through Nav Canada. How long did it take to hear back after applying for training? Is the job as stressful as people say it is?

if shifts in canada are just as fucked as the US it's not worth it

>work 0800-1600 first few days
>then 1600-2400 next few days
>then 2400-0800 to finish up

People don't want to work graveyard indefinitely. There is an appearance it is more fair to rotate shifts.

i tried to take that aptitude test , wow, almost 20 years ago. Drove to Toronto. The exam was in a hotel by the river. I will never forget walking into that room with hope and it being dashed. The room was full of people. I would say maybe......300. I don't want to discourage you that's what you should wait for.

probably same reason why they don't give fixed schedules to most wagies; they think it's cheaper + administrators somehow seem to think that it improves morale and productivity.

I'm surprised it's still around. The FAA facilities i worked at shitcanned it a long time ago.

Start off in Dispatch. Work with an airline gaining experience, jump seat, and then consider your options. Continue making great money working for an airline or move into the public sector as a controller.
Just having something like the ADX down is a great help in moving forward.

What other FAA jobs are out there besides ATC?

That was my schedule as a yardmaster for the longest just pushed up by two hours.(0600-1400)

Idiots will say things like "But don't you like the long days off in between?" NO! IT FUCKING SUCKS! You're always tired and trying to adjust to an ever changing sleep schedule. I swear working that shift for 2 years has taken 10 off my life.
