No taking into account that where people actually live has shifted, not taking into account the new comercial and population centres, not taking into account that the 10k plus jobs that used to exist down town are now gone because there are no factories in town anymore. That is one of the big problems of public transportation, it’s all polítics and don’t you dare remove stops or change methods.
A friend of mine works in the public ferry company that crosses the river into the capital, he was telling me about how stupid it is for them to buy gpl gas powered boats and when I made the comment that from that pov it is stupid to have ferry crossings to begin with because you could replace them easily with about four buses his face was priceless because he had never thought about the cost difference between buses and ferries, with the added benefit that busses can drop you off where you actually want to be as opposed to just the other side of the river. That’s just one of the problems of public transportation, politics.
