e-Gravel

No.1797134 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I want a new all purpose E but also a non-E gravel bike. Instead of buying two why not go with one? E-Gravel is the latest shit becoming more widely available. And the more I think about it the more based the idea is to me.
Problems with E's: 1. Heavy 2. not decoupling after speed limit, have to pedal the motor resistance.

Behold gravel ebikes, especially Specialized or Fauza motor ones: https://fazua.com/en/bikes/gravel/

1. They are light 2. they decouple the motor after speed limit. Thats already pretty good BUT, the best part: you can remove the motor+battery althogether, put a cover and have a light vanilla one, thats fucking awesome.

They are all Ultegra/GRX and in ~5k money range. Just what I want. I currently can't think of any downsides.

Discuss e-Gravel/e-Cyclocross, reassure me or talk me out of buying. I need some brain input before I spend money.
