I would also recommend buying it used - it's a little pricey if you get it new.
I got it brand new because the used bike market is sketchy where I live, plus Cube XC bikes were out of stock because of the pandemic at the time.
It's only my second bike so I don't have much to compare it to, but I enjoy riding it on the road. It's pretty light, the wide handlebars make it easy to maneuver and the shifting is quite nice.
However, if you live somewhere *really* flat with good roads, I don't recommend it - you'd be better off with a gravel or touring bike, since this one performs best on steep ascents, preferably with uneven terrain.

From what little I've done, technical descents on XC bikes require both a dropper post (post-buy upgrade), and a lot of skill, which I don't have.
