Is this the best board to discuss georgism? I was ignored on /biz/ and /pol/
What do you think of georgism?
I used to be really into it but now I'm kinda on the fence. I think it would be great for society but unfair to some individuals in some cases.
Example: I live in a third world town with almost no zoning laws. Someone could build a supermarket next to my house and increase my land's value, or build a bar and lower the land's value. Under current taxes I would prefer the supermarket since I would be close to groceries AND my house would go up in value. But under a land value tax the supermarket would actually cause my taxes to increase and that seens deeply unfair. Isn't it kinda backwards?
