Only Denmark is backing SAS as of now. Norway gave up in 2018 and sold all its shares. Sweden gave up this week hence OP's thread. Denmark has a bigger stake than the other as Copenhagen airport is the major hub of SAS and so a SAS bankruptcy would have a disproportionate effect on Denmark.

Why do European countries with laws and regulations that make the free market supreme, going as far as privatizing all national mail carriers AND electric distribution and other things that are actually important for a functioning country, but yet support failing airline industries/banks?

Denmark should just let Lufthansa buy up all of SAS' slots. I'm pretty sure United and Air Canada will pitch in too so that it can just barely skirt the EU antitrust regulations.

Booked a flight back to the US for the end of the month. When I flew into London they had to cancel my flight and upgraded me to BA. I sorta hope they're fucked up enough to where they'll have to do it again.
