The use of the term "training wheels" is only appropriate for people actually learning to ride.
For the bulk of the population, the only way to get them onto these dangerous machines is by providing a sense of safety and security, to make have happened today, never again.
Think about it: how in the fuck are you going to get the uncoordinated masses interested in biking when there are emergency rooms filling up every day across the world with people who were sold on the idea of a bike, which was, out of the box, beyond their capabilities.
This is the world we live in; these are the people we have to accommodate to reach critical mass. We must drive acceptance of stability wheels and reduce stigma around adult use.
Stability wheel riding needs to be rebranded: as safe, even fun, and finally, something for literally everyone, even your grandma. Seriously.
Because I know elders who have literally fractured their large bones falling down. A hospital stay, rehab and disability is no joke at that age- or any age, really.
I envision a future in which all barriers to biking have been removed. The capability to stay upright at all times should not be a barrier to bicycling.
