So, i'm probably not as weird as some, but I like obscure/niche stuff.

Mini-Velo were a recent interest, but now I'm onto something different:
27.5/650B BMW/MTB single-speed with coaster brake...

Anyone know of a readily made model (sub $500) that would offer this weird setup?

I'm not entirely thrilled about the rounded top tube. Almost looks like it's trying to be a "chopper", but then the seat stays kinda make it work.

I did some research. The style I like is a "Klunker" bike. Basically exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks! I would have never found out that name/style if it weren't for you guys.

Retospec makes a Sully Klunker as well, but with a rim brake. I like the toptube a bit more though.

calculate spoke length and order
build a wheel yourself, it's not hard, or find someone locally to do it
recoup some costs by selling things you won't need like brakes and old hub
the question of "why" remains but that's not for me to judge

Klunkers becoming a thing again is a pretty genius idea when you think about it. Reverse engineer the modern mountain bike back to its roots - when it was an indestructible cruiser tuned to go off sick jumps. Just pure fun. The affordable prices spit in the face of the ultra-commercialized $$$$ unattainable grabbel industry.
I guess that's probably why BMX bikes with 26-29 wheels are a thing now. People just want to have a fun, affordable bike that can do everything. Who would have though?

You could definitely just make a custom rear wheel for whatever Klunker you decide to get, with either a coaster brake or a shimano nexus setup as anon mentioned. That would be a really dope bike.

The main problem with the Retrospec and the Sully is that they're made of high tensile steel instead of chromolly. If you don't mind the aesthetics you could look for BMX bikes with 27.5 tires. They're basically the exact same thing as a Klunker barring frame aesthetics.
