Medkit on bike?

All this time I've neglected carrying basic emergency medkit on the road bike despite getting hurt so many times so far away from home.
Can't believe I didn't reflect on this sooner.

Lightweight freak I am I've only 2 water bottles and a tiny saddle bag for a tube but I could deal with this extra weight.

Do you carry a medkit on your bike?

Are you sure this is the right sport for you?
Maybe you're better suited for soccer? Getting hurt every time you go out seems to be par for the course there.

Whether you're biking, walking, driving, or taking public transport, it's always a good idea to have a first aid kit in a backpack or trunk as well as an idea of how to use it. Regularly inventory your kits too to build familiarity with your equipment. Unfortunately, a lot of basic first aid kits are pretty garbage quality or will contain some unnecessary stuff and/or will lack some key items. Always try to carry gloves, bandages/bandaid/gauze/wrap, sterilizing wipes, ointment, and ibuprofen. Now if you want to take it a step further, carry a CPR mask shield, a suture kit, quick clot, quick tourniquet, and an antihistamine.

Antihistamine is killer advice considering all the crashes with bees and wasps, I didnt get stung YET and I've no idea how I'll react.

You've gotten used to the idea of medical equipment and staff being readily available. Unless you're a first responder or spent time in public service or the military, you don't realize how stupid humans can be and their tendency to encounter freak accidents, well I'm sure you've seen your fair share as a medical professional, a basic first aid kit is good for you and those around you.

Nowadays assisted respiration isn’t even recommended unless you have an assistant, just do chest compressions.

Are you going to be performing surgery?

I carry aspirin and tums because I sometimes have to drive 4-18 hours, I don’t see why I would ever need anything else listed. Am I going to get in an accident and point out to someone where my band aids are before I die of internal bleeding?

Yeah, from what I've read a tourniquet wouldn't have helped in this case because the injury was too high up his thigh.
It's pretty terrifying, if he had been alone he would be dead. In this specific injury I don't think you could do much by yourself, hemostatic agents probably won't do a lot on such an artery bleeding. I might be wrong.
