so as long as it fits into the loading gauge, you can use the same body with modified bogies (which the design should allow for, unless the designers were utterly braindead).
Standard to Russian gauge or vice versa is reasonably common, same goes for metre-cape gauge.. hell, standard to metre is doable, and has been done - at least on locos and trams.
