Maybe there's a possibility that we can achieve someone that is effectively the same as being teleported but isn't as sci fi magic as we think of it is. In reality, if all jobs were remote then you don't really need to go to work. if shipping were changed to the point where objects were all shipped to the home in a way that is even more convenient and timely than amazon then there's no need for large trucks (I'm thinking a series of tubes that are under the ground where things can be sent quickly or maybe just drones). The only need for travel left would be recreational travel which can be improved by something we can't anticipate. (Something wacky like insanely fast bullet trains that go under the ocean, idk) maybe we can achieve "teleporting" by just using work arounds.
