>>1828643well, yeah, that's what the condition is - developmental retardation in the cerebellum/prefrontal cortex. I estimate I'm quite a few years behind in certain critical brain development to people my age, and I don't think I'll catch up.
I've just started medication, 30mg vyvanse/elvanse. These magic beans are wonderful - deep clarity, and suppression of all the aforementioned dysfunctional behaviour. Frens are blown away by the attentive, optimistic person standing before them - from retard to norman overnight. It's a dream, and supports the theories I've been reading that ADHD is a dopamine regulation disorder (never enough nor at the right time to function). That magic hormone does it all, apparently, and supplementing it through a prodrug feels like adding premium fuel to a motor that's been coughing on fumes for years.
Cycling is much more fun on it too. An unexpected side effect is increased fine motor control, sharpened reaction and awareness of muscle activation, the same feeling I've experienced when doing yoga or lifting and concentrating on mind-muscle connection. And an sensory richness to the world around me, I walk around like a baby experiencing things for the first time. Must look a bit unhinged fondling leaves and sniffing wood lol. Sorry for the blogpoast, I'm just happy at last.
>>1828649I read this here and used to believe this too. For me it's a very real condition and I guess "they" got to me because now they've got me on deez pills broh, which seem to be an answer for now.
I had a good diet and would regularly roughhouse as a kid. I've met ex-military and a few other masculine types who have ADHD, and a few girls too, so while I agree with you about the societal shift re boys, implying its a cause doesn't match their/my experiences. I don't know whether its increase is symptomatic of our generation's diets/environment, or just more diagnosed today. I do know it's comorbid with ASD. But really, thanks for the concern.
