Well the 'NS' it's time get your ass into gear and become more like Zwitserland.
As a Dutch person I agree with Jason.
Our trains, buses, trams and stations are all dirty, ugly and in need of a cleaning.
When I saw Zwitserland I was embarresed for my country and jealous of how well organised everyting is in over there!

I rode all the trains in Western Europe. Yours are not the best. The best trains are the French TGV trains and everything else is a far second place.

I enjoyed the silly idea of a double decker train there so that was fun. Great job getting the trains working right and not getting me mugged the dozen or so times I've gone through Amsterdam Centraal.

It just doesn't look that nice for being "first class".

I took a train between Helsinki and Tampere last weekend and I bumped my return ticket to the "Extra class" since the normal class was a bit shit and some cunt put his bag on my guitar bag. And I think that our Extra class looks nicer than the Swiss first class.

Apart from the current horrendous time issues due to a shortage of workers, my biggest problem is that NS is refurbishing comfie trains. The Bison used to be very clean and somewhat luxurious like a Koploper (pic), but now it has shitty plastic seats, the windows let in less light and the floor is whiter than it was so now you see every bit of dirt and rubbish.
NS used to be good, now it's just expensive crap, except when you are lucky enough to have a Koploper on your route.

As a foreigner I really like the Dutch train system. The trains are decent and mostly on time. The stations are always nicely lit, safe and don't smell like piss, unlike in France and Germany. My main point of criticism is that it's fairly expensive and honestly a bit slow sometimes because of too many stops on all inter City trains. Also you can only travel with your bike in very restricted ways, which sucks a lot.
