Yes, I am a "wagie".
I live in SW Ohio, and I work in a machine shop that does aerospace contracts. A bit less than $5K/two weeks. My background is in CS, not machining. But at this point my experience > my education.
Yes, it's enough to buy whatever I care to have. Or make, because I have my own machines.

Just watched a bunch yesterday, it looks fun as hell. I do rideshare but this would be a fun way to change it up when it's nice out. Only issue is I'm 6 miles (each way) from the city so I'd need something with plenty of range but I hesitate to drop several thousand dollars on what could be a Chinese pos with no parts support.

bikes have the advantage of having swappable batteries usually. You can build one if you want better specs but scooters are cool too and a lot of fun.
