I've slowly transitioned to using speedplays exclusively though because I have a deep need to do everything the stupid way because it makes me feel smart
The only person I know who has eggbeaters is an ex finance guy in his 50s who rides an obscenely expensive MTB entirely on pavement, that should tell you something about the average eggbeater customer. Not judging, just saying.
