>>1846251white people steal bikes too
>>1846374my bike was $300, the two ulocks and seatpost lock that goes through my wheel / rear rack / seat / frame was $200, I'm more worried about having to walk home vs losing an expensive bike.
1. get two decent ulocks that resist everything but angle grinders (the hiplock d1000 is the only lock that you can realistically carry and does but its not available). One should go through the wheel / frame / whatever you're locking to, the other should go through the other wheel / frame.
2. lock the seat down as well using a small cable chain (like an abus one)
3. don't leave an expensive bike unattended ever
4. don't leave any bike unattended overnight, take it inside
5. only lock your bike to actually secure surfaces, people lock their shit to chainlink fences all the time and those can be cut in 3s
6. Try to lock up next to someone who poorly locked their bike, most people leave their wheels unsecured so locking next to one of those is good.
If you do all this shit 99% of thieves will go for another bike as yours is too annoying to grab, you can get a frame mount for a lock, and keep the other two locks in a rear pannier bag, adds maybe 3lbs to the bike in exchange for the security of not worrying about it being stolen because you left it locked up for 10min.
