Most train systems on the planet are mismanaged and end up losing money, which means taxpayers are subsidizing the train system and all the companies that are supported by the train. I enjoy relatively low taxes, by orders of magnitude lower than what I used to pay in Europe.

The station is now a museum and Amtrak picks up people by bus. Nearest airport is an hour away, add an hour for security theater and parking fees. It just sucks to travel, I usually just end up driving. At least I'm in control and in my comfy car that way. I really wouldn't mind a train coming back in, track is already there and there are 3 major cities, and 2 international airports on the same stretch, surely that could be made profitable.
