What's /n/'s thoughts on the traditional 4 way intersections in the US? I agree with NJB that it's quite frustrating to press the button too late. I end up jaywalking all the time because of how inconvenient it tends to be. The small amount of walking in Amsterdam I did when I went (because the transit was so good!) was pleasant. I felt no need to jaywalk as the crossings were intelligently designed.
