ITT: we post interesting trains we’ve seen out and about locally, or just know about.
Pic is of CP 7021, part of the set of specially painted trains meant to honour Canadian veterans. Saw it today while walking my dogs.

It's a restored coal train made to look like a thomas the train-esque train. It stops at all these really poor towns in Dixieland, SE Texas and Oklahoma before coming into Union Station in Kansas City. In KC it sits outside of Union Station which is lit up in Christmas finery and you get to tour the train. At the whistle stops they give out toys and backpacks and stuff to the kids. It's a good thing they do.

Some autist sank millions into this idea to take people from dc to the greenbrier (also nuclear bunker for congress (also d.u.m.b) (also underground child trafficking tunnels))). The freight line they needed to use has too much traffic and they couldn’t get a decent schedule without having to pull over for the clean beautiful coal trains to pass
