>>1851001You know what's better than a walkable city? A driveable and walkable city. Which most cities are.
I'm convinced most transportation bike people are just fatties who want to be associated with the idea of bikes but don't actually ride and get sweaty and honked at or throw a fist up at a cager fuck man live a little.
The only impediment to being able to walk everywhere in the urban core is elevation. The only impediment to you being able to drive everywhere in a good driveable city is the cost of a residential parking permit at your building.
People always talk about Houston like it is this horrible place but it's the perfect example. It's dead flat and is a grid layout where there is no food deserts. You can ride your bike to the other side of the city and back no problemo. You can ride your car into work and park in a garage then ride back to your house and park in your garage.
Houston is tra/n/sportaion paradise. Also, Los Angeles.
Both hugely underrated biking cities.
