Transport is so beautifully readable and timeless. Going to France and Germany I immediately noticed how I needed to be much closer to their signs to read them.
Rail Alphabet is a close second, but its revolting bastard child Rail Alphabet 2 is so soulless and unreadably thin that it loses points for having "inspired" it.

Road signs in the Scottish Highlands on the other hand look much more uniform, but still does enough to distinguish between languages by using a different yet familiar colour for the Gaelic text.

The Welsh don't differentiate languages on signs at all, which is less visually noisy but makes me feel like I'm having a stroke when the first half of a sign makes sense and then I try to read the second half.
