LBS told me there were at least 150 euro worth of costs to service my mountain bike.
A new one costs 190 euro.

Are cheap bicycles just not worth the emotional attachment at all?

Most definitely not if you're not doing the wrenching yourself. Cheap bikes are meant to be disposable.

that doesn't mean you should ride them into the ground, you can still do some basic maintenance and have it run perfectly, for longer

I'm riding a Hungarian (SOVIET HUNGARIAN, in fact) bike from the mid 90s and nothing ever broke, although kids make fun of me. Find a Third Reich era one and ride it for next 1000 years.

your bike is actually practically unridden.
There is next to zero wear on the chainrings so the drivetrain is fine and the dork disc is pristine.

It even has shifters with a friction mode so if your issue is poor shifting you could do a shitty fix without even recabling.

What is actually the problem here?

there is nothing shitty about it which is anything else than a function of price, and it's not totally bottom end, it has a derailer hanger, it has a cool paint job, it has shimano parts.

The price of € 73 though, is a bit ridiculous.

It IS in very good original condition, but that doesn't mean it's in good running condition, it is due an overhaul. I would have wanted to pay half that, max. For someone parting it out, the only thing that has any value whatsoever is maybe 20 for the wheels and tires if they hold air and are straight.
